That being said if you do have the ability to buy one at that price and you can build on it, and it is not steep, you are very fortunate.

Fortunately I am just outside of the boundaries of the historic district and do not have HOA, Historic district, or any other governing body (Besides of course City of Houston permitting department) to answer to. 

Fortunately my wife had a joint account with her mom for many years and we showed them the bank account, and they accepted that.
