I wanted to also add that a good 1031 exchange company should be willing to explain a lot of this to you.They can’t and won’t give you legal or tax advice on the transactions themselves - if you have those questions you should ask your regular attorney or accountant.But they should be happy and willing to guide you through the process so you’re comfortable with it, explain the mechanics and the forms, etc.In my opinion that’s an important part of their job, and it’s also in their best interest to really help you on your first exchange as it’s quite possible you could do many more exchanges in the future, so a good exchange company is going to want to really help you when you’re just starting to do these.
