That makes a big difference to the deal and it puts you in a much better spot if it is the case.You can do a quick records search to see if there is an IRS/State/Local lien on the property to confirm (I wouldn't trust his say so on it at this point).If it's just an expected tax bill for a sale, he doesn't need you to do a 1031.  

As you probably know, Maui is a favorite vacation spot for Canadians and many Canadians own property there.  

It was easy to spot since it was a corner property with 2 separate doorway entrances (one in the front and one in the side towards the rear of building).  

This is monumentally unfair to the seller, who is already in a tight spot.

For one thing there's the warm winters and gentle atmosphere that make all of Florida an alluring spot to claim property, however Jacksonville's charms go past that.

It's not the worst spot to be in but the 3/1 setup wouldn't be near as desirable as a 3/2.

I'm an avid DIYer and I love to make things, so I'm really hoping to find a spot close to Artisan's Asylum in Somerville.
