(Not diminishing what you said) because it is good to have that perspective, though I think is not as black and white as it seems I think awareness and resourcefulness play a huge part in it as well. 

You could adjust the risk by adding UVXY maybe 10% in case there's black swan event.Or you put collar on it.

Black, Iron Ore, Iron Mountain, Graphite and etc are trendy right now for accent/feature walls and Evergreen Fog is pretty popular for cabinet lowers.
