I grew up in Riverside, and my parents bought rentals there as buy and hold stuff. 

I grew up in the area and drove passed the for sale sign.

I also grew up in a family of investors for rentals and/or mortgage holders.

In 2019 we decided to move back to Philly, which is where I grew up.

I grew up in Alameda and I would tend to lean there if possible.As someone who is now in Los Angeles, I used house hacking here to fund future properties and now have properties out of state (still house hacking here).
