You may feel safer for that first month but after that first month rent is still due once per month so the day it is due is an arbitrary number in my book.

Stay committed to learning about the business and I don't think you can go wrong.I suggest reading through the forums like a mad man, reading all the real estate investing books you can get your hands on, and setting realistic goals you can work towards.
