All new gfi's have what is called smart lock on them so you can not boot leg the neutral to the ground and make them work.

Ask the loan officer to give you the max amount for which you qualify so you can use that as a limit in your shopping.

@Michael Worley  We can certainly disagree on this, but I don't think shopping is a bad idea at all.
