Hey guys I'm going through my tax deductions from this year getting prepped for my schedule E, and I'm not sure what category some of things would be deducted under.Or if I can deduct them at all?

For those 5 years, I reported my contracting income/expenses on my schedule C and our rental income/expenses on schedule E. 

In terms of markets to invest in for cash flow, the Midwest seems to be a very popular answer.

@Adrienne MeltonYou will find many different opinions in this topic ..Most recommend to form LLCs in State you are doing business..I’m aware Nevada’ and I believe some other States are popular States to form Series LLCs.I learned the hard way starting out, most banks will give you hard time financing thru a LLC and the few that do you might end up paying higher rate..There are ways around that people purchase w their name and then transfer title do their LLC but then theres the possibility the bank may exercise “due on sale clause” although it seems nobody knows somebody that bank went forward on “due on sale clause” with today’s rising rates banks might have more incentive to do this..Here’s my 2 cents, it’s great that you’re thinking about asset protection.

I might be jumping to conclusions or overreacting, but I'm having an impossible time reaching my tenants. They are Section 8, and 100% of their rent is subsidized by the city so I'm at least getting paid, however both...

@Michael Hacker I absolutely agree that prefab constriction is going to become much more popular in the next few years but the skilled labor shortage will affect prefab shops, in the U.S. especially,  as much or more than on site construction. 

But Hyde Park has also taken off and is very popular as it's got a ton of charm and lies in between downtown and the Plaza.

Think of the "abandoned cart" mentality from e-commerce to pull people back in when they don't immediately convert.
