I have my local hardware rekey locks and they charge $5 for that and about $2 per key.I change common door locks and unit locks every time I change a tenant, and I get new locks or have them rekeyed to a different key that I have never used before, just in case one tenant someday happens to try a lock with an old key...

If you went in right now and started making renovations to common areas AND started increasing the legal rent annually at the limit, it would be 20+ years to get those free market.There are other ways, but not recommended for first timers nor faint of heart.
