Maybe I'm colored by my market and bad experiences, but I just can't see paying for the "privilege"of a landlord who can sell the house and send me packing, who can hassle me for being too loud, having guests, smoking or pets, and who can refuse to make improvements that I might desire.

I do have a pet agreement that says things like the pet is spayed, is indoor only, they will clean up all pet waste, they are responsible if there are any fleas, all pets on leashes outside, and maybe a few other things I’ve thought up.
