Here are the criteria that would determine it is a "log cabin style" v a true log cabin:- Foundation Walls = Concrete Block- Roof Surface = Metal or Shingles- Heating = FWA- Interior Walls = Drywall or Plaster

It depends...most carports without exterior walls/doors would fall under a 15-year property under asset class 00.3.

Is the IRS going to come find the 2x4 that was used to reinforce a wall or build some shelving? 

This is was mostly cosmetic updates, with only a few walls that needed to be added and moved.

Examples are blowing out a load bearing wall, rewire, coffered ceilings, reworking drains amongst other things.

A few appropriate wall artifacts or artwork can add to looks and feel of the rooms. 

That always makes it so much harder to rent, or secure a great tenant.Here's my standard go to list now for long term rental updates:-LVP that looks like wide plank white oak-Ultra Pure white on all the walls-Vertical/ modern stack backsplashes and showers-Pop of color on the cabinets (pop of color can include black too)-Butcher block countertops (lower end) or white quartz countertops (higher end)-Modern light fixtures in brushed brassKeep it neutral still but a couple of style choices with the light fixtures (which are cheap) and it will appeal to the masses.Good luck!
