@Rich Ramirez Here in the Kitchener area of Ontario the rent:value ratio is about 0.5-0.6 as well (for SFH).That's been the case for as long as I've been in the business.

That would be your biggest issue, if you got a bad tenant your  screwed Sitting down here in NB - which strangely has a rather well balanced Residential Tenancies Act - Ontario's Landlord and Tenant Act is pretty much as pro tenant as the Régie du logement.
