I pulled an owner-builder permit and added a master suite, laundry room, walk-in-pantry, and a large detached 2-car garage.

The "duplex" is 3 bed 2 bath, but the master bedrooms to both units are walled off creating two 2 bed 1 bath units and two 1 bed 1 bath units (no kitchen in these. essentially a hotel room).

I think all of our properties will be automatically covered by our master program policies.

I bought the property with the master bedroom already converted JADU.

Nothing has been reported as damaged and I didn't even get to inspect the bedrooms or master bath because the tenant wouldn't show her face after she let me in.

(plus I had my plumber verify I could add a master bath to the 2nd story).

There is a master lease on the vacant unit by seller, so seems like they are trying to find the tenant for the vacant space already.
