That way you can get a better idea what is required of tenants in terms of exterior upkeep of both homes and lots.  

They may be friends with several of the tenants or want a legacy for their own kids in terms of cashflow. 

I have seen ideas such as looking at the number of permits issued at a city/county permitting office but even they don't seem to have all of the info together to show the bigger picture of how a city is doing in terms of investment activity, best ways to approach this?

So far 2019 has not been very kind in terms of looking for a 2 family home here in NYC.I work as an engineer in construction.

@Tariq Bakroun Can you give a little insight in terms of lot size and budget and what you're looking to achieve in terms of net profit or cashflow, etc? 

Okay that's what I was thinking even if I great reduce my expenses by a couple hundred dollars from the $800 I'm currently paying for a 2 bedroom apartment then I still come out on top in terms of money saved
