When I withdrew the money I was working as a contractor, but found a full-time job within a month.

As in any field, if you enjoy what you're doing, you will do great!

But the most important lucky break we caught was finding a very talented contractor who saw a future with us and a willingness to make an investment of time and sweat in us to grow our business so his business could grow.

It is a bit of work up front to get in the position Jenna and her husband are in now....getting financing, coming out to Indy to know the area, and lining up property managers, contractors, etc. 

I want to get some advice regarding hiring of contractors/handyman(woman), I have been looking for a few weeks and haven't been able to find anyone willing to take on a job. 

@Jessica Muto I personally believe instead of hiring a property manager, you should vet a team of sub-contractors or some general contractors to handle the repairs, and get a good education on the landlord/tenant laws and the lease, then you can market the properties yourself.

It's all because the property has to be inspected along the way before each draw is given to the contractor, the contractor has to be vetted by the lender and also be a willing to work with oversight but it's all very doable and they have it down to a pretty good system now.

I’m not a contractor so idk how much it would cost to put it back to shape, i just threw a high number into the calculator just for a prospective idea. 

I'm handy by trade, have worked for and been a general contractor and have all the tools for the job, whether it's my actual tools or connections for bigger projects or repairs.
