Greetings everyone, I would like to move forward in the process of acquiring my first multi-family home however my credit is not exactly where I want it to be, I understand that the VA does not require a "minimum" credit score however most lenders do require a 620 minimum.

Looking to invest in real estate starting with single family with the goal of eventually have long multi family.

I personally will never buy a condo because of HOA.instead of staying in the same apartment, why not buy a duplex/multi-family and owner-occupy one unit?

Many folks on bigger pockets speak towards buying land+improvements, buildings such a multi-family, where they are buying land + improvements.  

For my first investment property, I thought I'd buy a multi family in the area I want to stay in long term even though it's a HCOL area.

@Nicholas L. when investing in multi-family or commercial real estate the lenders aren't so concerned about your income but rather on the income of the property. 

I have decent equity in our 7 current single family properties, and I'm looking for the best way to tap that equity for a down payment on a multi-family property.
