Long story short, my husband worked at Dartmouth, 20 years ago--and I swore to never come back...there were no or very very little hair care products for African Americans in Hanover/Lebanon back then...Anyway, I earned my doctorate in psychology, became a licensed clinical psychologist and yearned for wide open spaces and a place to do my art--I now work for a distance learning institution (work from home) and my husband is back working at Dartmouth.

If, however, you are speaking of a 401k with your current employer and you are less than 59 1/2 years old, you likely cannot move that to a plan of your choosing.A self directed IRA is simply an IRA with the same tax framework, but held by an institution that has the specialty staff training and paperwork to document investments beyond what Wall St. sells.

Example:It is similar to when the new rules in lending came down from the government that didn't allow Banks/Lenders/Financial institutions that are actively doing Mortgage loans to have any contact with appraisers that are hired to do appraisals on the properties that they are attempting to make a loan on.

Two more questions, my LLC is not foreign qualified in TN, although if the deal is good enough, we won't have an issue filing the paperwork, but does this mean I will have to seek a loan from a TN institute?
