Adding spouse to title
Hello BPers. My wife does not have a two year history at her job but the house is in her name and we would like to get a cash out/refi. I have a two year work history so I would like to add my name to the title. Are there tax implications to doing this? I read that there 'might' be a gift tax in Pennsylvania. We bought the house with cash before we were married and put it in her name because it was a first time home owner deal.

Matt, I believe you just need to do a bit of paperwork with the county Recorder of Deeds and have you wife sign off on getting you added to the deed. Shouldn't cost more than $50.
