I spent some quality time in Rapid City, SD, when I was in the AF.

The price is still pretty affordable in that area and if you have a good amount of liquidated asset, you can buy several units there, wait for a couple of years and your property will appreciate rapidly.

The market blends a low cost of living with relatively high quality of life, and is growing rapidly.

I did a quick scan of high end stuff in that area and I would say 90% are condos.

It's free, easy to learn and user friendly.I recently tried MagicPlan so that I could theoretically scan a room to auto-generate the floor plan, but I honestly didn't have much luck...every time I would try to 'add a room corner' the corner would be offset the wall by several inches so I didn't have much confidence in it's measurements...For that reason, I don't think I'd ever use MagicPlan for actual construction documents or measurements. 

Prices all went down in 2008 as the foreclosures all entering the market at once caused a rapid spike in supply, putting major downward pressure on prices.
