@Rob Gervais I think you should reconsider renovating if you cannot envision what you want, or find someone they can help you.

@Irina Belkofer and @James Wise the market just paid $130k for a renovated duplex up the street from this property.

The home needs updating but is livable, so slowly renovating the kitchen, bathroom and floors while I live here.

I actually had not planned any of this when I first bought the house, but I knew I wanted to renovate the house and not take out another loan, so I went the roommate route, and I'm so glad I did!

Just curious as to why you want to start out with a larger building.

I plan on immediately renovating and selling within 90-120 days.  

Hi all - my partners and I recently completed and listed our first renovation project.

Obviously this would make it difficult to renovate the other unit of the duplex if it's inhabited and with the 6 month timeline being eaten up due to the 9 month contract, I'm not sure how it's possible to do the renovations on the loan.Has anyone had experience with this?
