Most people will tell you that REI is a bad idea because they know nothing of it, but they can recall hearing about 401ks and IRAs and its what their parents most likely did so to them that is the way to go.

I just been reading books and my parents own a few properties in North Carolina and I own one in Texas (my 1st personal residence).

My mom, dad and me had an agreement that we were going to sell our current home, pool our resources together including savings and retirement accounts and buy rental properties out of state (most of the money belongs to me but it is mingled with my parents funds).
