Some electronic lock systems are not remotely programmable, so if there is a security issue and you need to re-code the lock, you will still have to visit the lock in person.

I would make sure the house is locked, has lights on, etc.

Never got keys so just drilled out the locks.

Josh Bauerle You can use Rently to electronically let people in with their lock boxes or you could pay a realtor to do the showings and give them a cut.For rent collection I love Cozy and use it for my local property and one out of state.

I understand we have possession rights, but we can’t just burst in there and change locks without notification, right?  

In my area a lot of people don't bid/purchase vacant land because it might be land locked and/or unbuildable.
