But the consumer advocacy team has confirmed that they located the loan and It was purged in 2018 which is why customer service cannot see It.

It's time consuming owning and managing rentals.

I would start by looking up their nmls on the consumer registration site, seeing how long they've been in business and if they have any reported complaints.

Just make sure to consume contents here as much as possible and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Just to share a little about myself, after I came to this realization I primarily focused on paying off all the consumer debt that I had (I paid off $45k in Student Loan Debt and a $6k car loan in full as of 2 weeks ago) .

Second, likely a violation of your states consumer protection laws. 

I can totally manage them myself..... its not too time consuming unless I have multiple apts to flip at once,  but usually its easy ;) 

If you get consumed by such a small item, being a landlord will be very difficult.
