I would point out it is in their best interest to just return your money and relist ASAP. that is really something that the lawyer closing the trasnaction would do as you describe  to me that seems like malpractice and I would tell him your filing a complaint with the bar.. thats over the top for him to talk to your lender.   

Please keep in mind that you are not selling candy bars or an Xbox on Craigslist or something, you are transacting in real estate that comes with a lot of liability.

Have you thought about contacting the NC State Bar and complaining?

The Florida Bar Purchase Contract that is a staple in our industry provides that if a property is to be tenant occupied after the sale that all leases and pertinent data is to be provided to you within 5 days of executed contract.

I have used a sawzall in the past to cut between the 1X fascia and sub-fascia to slice through the nails to extract it, but I have seen "pros" make a mess of it by hacking the 1X into pieces and used a pry bar to brute force it, which usually end up disturbing the drip edge or even the waterproofing membrane above it.

Barring desperation, which it sounds like you don't have, you want to make these decisions when you know the tenants are leaving or when their lease is up so you can adjust accordingly.

Your best bet is to read around, jot down the names of individuals who you believe will be able to add value, and reach out for an introductory call.Generally a CPA cannot advise on legal matters unless they are also licensed by the bar in their jurisdiction. 

If so, you're probably good without doing additional work, as the exterior sealant and drain would be more than sufficient, barring something extreme...
