My thought was to clear the back acre, cover it with gravel (or millings)  and offer machine/equipment storage until the proper time to build the expansion.

However, like the alchemists in search of a formula for turning lead into gold and the inventors searching for a perpetual motion machine....hope springs eternal.

I will take the contrarian view here... this is an owner occupied purchase correct and your using one of your mortgage slots to buy a 3 unit..

I agree with Matt and Dana that playing the appreciation game is more like playing the slots, so I've decided to ignore this as a factor in my buy decision.

Just tell your mom all of that blue paint will come out of the sheets if she puts two in the machine and runs it on hot.  

I know my way around a sewing machine, too.

@Elizabeth Lee as you mentioned, the newer machines cost so much more than even a fairly significant repair that I typically try to repair them.

We have a few investments in real estate but another corporation just established as a machine shop we worked with for many years.

The almost year I spent learning and gathering information, "Gurus" and "Get rich now" systems were common and I always thought to myself "Why would someone throw away a winning powerball ticket to go play the slot machine?"
