Keep in mind that in order to take a distribution under the CARES Act you must have been impacted by the virus in one of the enumerated ways.If so, you can take a penalty-free distribution (as well as waive the 20% withholding requirement) from your 401k (assuming that the employer allows it) anytime between 1/1/2020 and 12/31/2020.

I’m sure giving “prior written permission” for every business with an EIDL means it would take god knows how long to refinance or sell anything, or in my case, move money between LLCs since it was my parent LLC that got the EIDL but it’s my subsidiary LLCs that own the properties that have sustained the economic injury.

My attorney now suggested the same structure if I want to do a partnership in the future set it up under it's own LLC and essentially have that owned by a parent LLC.

@Josh Walworth FIRPTA is interesting in that while it is the SELLER'S money we are talking about, it is the BUYER'S responsibility to make sure it is paid.Settlement agents are supposed to withhold based on the PURCHASE PRICE unless an exemption applies or the seller obtains a withholding certificate from the IRS directing title to withhold a different amount.

I am lucky to live with my parents at the moment and will stay and save for my down payment but I am not sure if the best option would be to buy a condo/preconstruction or a house and have the renters help pay for the mortgage.

Although I’m still living with my parents and don’t have to many expenses because of that, I have been able to work with him in order to earn money for myself and my own bills.
