How long was your inspection period?

Even longer if a maintenance plan is in-place to inspect them yearly and remove rust and refinish. 

Let's say you inspected a house and found that the water heater is 5 years old and is in good shape.

It's kind of a contingency but not quite, the offer is just for the vacant land and contract would only be executed once ground is fully cleared, inspected, maybe even tested, etc., not before like with a home-sale offer. 

A close family member brought to my attention that the risk of buying an old home like this is having plumbing, sewage, and electrical issues because during the home inspection you cannot see these things since the plumbing is underground and the electrical is behind the walls.. 

Meticulously restored by previous owners throughout the mid 90s and 2000s to replicate the original hotel while converting the property into a person residence.

I did review a formal inspection that was completed within the last 2 years and aside from some age related and climate related issues, it seemed to otherwise present satisfactory.

The slab was deemed safe by the appraiser and passed the inspection.

The problem was noted on a previous inspection and neighbor has same problem.
