The houses are literally next door to each other which is somewhat of an odd coincidence, but I'm now in a situation after completing a full rehab on the property I purchased and finalizing on a BRRRR that I can devote a bunch of effort into trying to obtain the unit next door. 

Then you can obtain a few contractor bids and make adjustment on the purchase price if necessary (or walk away).

I'm in my last steps to lock up financing (conventional) on my first investment property - final inspection was this morning and am discussing options with my lender.

I had been thinking that if there was a way to take possession of them and obtain title, then at least one of them might be a good candidate to rehab.

A friend of mine recommended this site after we had a discussion about how ripe the local market is and I've been hooked on the podcasts in recent weeks and am soon to be equally engaged on the forums, as well as, reading the blog posts.
