It looks like a "ring base station" is required to make these work, not sure if there is a work around, and also wondering if you'd need your own dedicated wifi in the house to connect all this too Owning a few properties myself and as a property manager for other investors I am imagining now the calls I would be getting when this system isn't working properly, batteries die, motorized lock stops working etc, so living in new england with the elements and temperatures we experience I would not recommend this to the owners of the properties I manage I have an up down style 2 family with a common entry door that sounds very similar to your setup.

I'm pulling out nearly 500K out of rentals, much of which is coming from 2 rentals I bought just 3 years ago.I figure the rising prices and long term rent increases will be worth it, and I'm also considering a new strategy, rather than relocating my rentals, I'd leave them here to get the insane appreciation and cash-out refinance periodically to buy rentals paid in cash in a different lower cost of living state I plan on relocating to.

I don't know about Texas, but I expect existing home prices in Wisconsin to keep going up, as they tend to follow new construction prices, which are on the rise and more than double of existing homes.We pay significantly more for lumber, OSB and plywood.

There may be a lag in the data and I think cap rates are rising because of agency required reserve requirements and buyers fear of increased vacancy rates but I haven't seen any definitive data that will prove this one way or another.
