I would try goof-off if its really stubborn, if it is stained wood I would look at some wood cleaners/ and possibly sand and refinish portion to match depending on area and quality of unit.Also give TSP a try.

The other big risk is leaving your company, which will increase with the longer time frame.I think the "double tax" aspect of the 401K loans is overstated since it only impacts the interest portion of the payments.
