Your numbers above for purchase price and comparable value 5 years later are suspect to me. 16,000 in appreciation over a 5 year period is equivalent to an average of less than 2% a year appreciation.

I made an urgent request to obtain a duplicate key to the common area (note that this key is required to be able to enter my condo unit), and the property manager has not delivered the keys 7 days later, in spite of letting him know this is urgent.

Years later you can move upstairs and eventually exit the property and rent top and bottom, then refinance to buy another property.
