Contractors, in general, are also doing a lot of jobs and will prioritize the ones where they can have the most people at the same time.Even my best contractors over the years got greedy at some point.

The very high income investor typically 700k a year and up income with job or business who is busy but gets googly eyes looking at some pro-forma high return and have no clue what they are looking at.

Their issues are now your issues and you gotta pay them and Uncle Sam for that opportunity. 

It's unfortunate that the deal fell through for your client, but kudos to you for recognizing an opportunity and making it work.

And certainly plenty of other opportunities.
