Additionally Amazon has multiple distribution centers North West of your location. 

You can find cheap lots that some of the counties run on online auctions .Im sure there can be good money in land if you offer owning financing but I didn't want to do that .Some people like the idea of just owning land even if it's in the middle of nowhere .

Northwest Indiana is an extension of chicago and I usually get deals there as well.

The most desirable area is the North East section, followed closely by the North West, then the South East and finally the South West.
