What you are looking to avoid is leaving it up to contractors to low ball and then hit you with all the "unforeseen" problems when you have little choice but to absorb more costs and blow up your budget.

That said, when we tell an agent we are dealing with them on a specific property, it's their ball to carry or drop.The realtor will submit the offer on your behalf ... and will likely negotiate on your behalf.

If the price is way too high you might want to callthem back in 30 days as low-balling them might be insulting to them and you don’t want to ruin yourchances down the road.
