I was fortunate in my specific scenario because I knew the units were renting significantly under value...but even more importantly was that I had still had cash flow coming in from an already established purchase.  

My brother is 51, not 21, and fortunately not belligerent — but same general sense of entitlement.

Fortunately the tenants did leave the home in fair shape.None of these things really matter to me though.
