I can't imagine that they can enforce such a restriction... unless it is GSE money (via Fannie Mae loan, etc.), in which case they can do whatever they like.

These may be landlords, phone numbers from the classified section of the newspaper, for-sale-by-owner listings, captured incoming calls to your business that you are returning, or any one of a multitude of other possible target demographics (see how many you can come up with if you use your imagination).

For example, a seller might opt for a lower price in exchange for a quicker sale, but if you're just posting retail on CL, you can't really promise or assure that it will be quicker than if he had worked with you.I imagine a flex option contract would be the ethical thing to do (so as not to tie in the seller), and perhaps a little cash to show your good faith intentions.
