I have to basically call the state in to do a study to find that the apartment is uninhabitable (which it is far from) for the tenant to vacate...

I am hoping to find an inexpensive room to rent in a safe neighborhood (I'm used to the Boulder Bubble) but within 10 miles of the Oakland airport ( I'll be commuting by bike most days to the office on Bay Farm Island).  

i live in long island, new york and it is notoriously expensive, even the cheapest of areas could still run around 160,000.

I have family in the Conch Republic and see opportunities in the long-term rental market there for fix and rents.I've also seen some family friends invest in commercial property and in boats (AirBnB just off the island).
