They started getting popular in the late 70s and early 80s, I believe, and there has been an incredible bull market since that time, so people who entered the workforce at that time and contributed diligently all these years (and just left it alone) are finding they have a nice nest egg, as long as their home is paid off and children are on their own by now.

@Matt GilroyI haven't been in the service in a long time, but traditionally, members who have dependents (spouses or children) usually have the option of living on-base in the military family housing for free, or off-base and receive a monthly housing allowance.So, it's not a bad gig.

For me, it was supposed to be for my dental business however for improvements, repairs, investments into equipment etc.But once given, they could not take it back so I could always use it for real estate.55K was offered, but, the rate was too high @ 10% and was on a 3 year amortization.

When I told him that they were under contract with me and had been for several weeks he said this was the first he had heard.The reason being he had not heard anything is this woman has entered a contract with me because she is a foster parent and is hoping to foster more children at my residence she currently fosters 4 and wants to move up to 6 foster kids.
