I run a South Beach 8 unit building that has been renting by the week for 10 years, last year they shut us down due to these new regulations.

We have people who mow and plow, and in one instance open and close (drain pipes, shut off the heat and water) the house in winter before and after each winter guest. 

We immediately called the HOA to contact the owner of the upstairs unit to shut off water and investigate the issue and had a water mitigation company (ServPro) come. 

We humans tend to remember the best & worst first so the first suggestion if probably the best.After you ask the question, shut-up.

At least with securities the manager can't forget to shut off the water in the winter and your investment won't be flooded.   

Just seeing the impacts in Houston, even if folks have insurance, businesses may be hurt or shut down and tourism impacted for quite some time  Understanding what the city is supporting to encourage growth in the area by visiting local chamber of commerce sites and zoning / planning.  

Shut them up or cut them out, and grind on.

Maybe wait for the L train to shut down and you might find a deal in Ridgewood.

Coming from a place of service is a great way to get people to listen and not shut the door on you.

Dallas does have a water shut off list.
