After some research and lurking on the BiggerPockets website, I decided that I want to get involved with real estate investing as soon as possible.

You might want to research who is in the AMC for that area.

I still have a lot of research to do before I make my final decision, and I appreciate the advice you have for creating my plan for investing before making that decision for myself.

While you want to research your own expenses, have you asked the seller for T12, and past 2 or 3 years of actual financials?

I wasn't "lucky" with this house as I put a lot of effort in researching and the owner before we bought it (no walk through) and the odds were in our favor (unless there was a foundation cracking apart issue). 

Going to change my perception and look at it year by year now and will do more research as I want to hopefully get my first property end of this year.

Research on the inter web the work you are planning and you can probably do it yourself.

Hello, I am new and I have been doing my research, it is all still new to me, so I have a lot to learn yet, but my plan is to wholesale houses until I can build enough capital to cover down payments, holding costs, rehabs etc on investment properties.
