What are the benefits to this type of system vs. one with traditional internet? 

In terms of your name on checks, just sign up for a service like Cozy where they send you payments online and they never have to write your name on anything.

-I could simply charge a flat fee for each of the services I provide (10% management fee, couple hundred bucks for the finding of the place and a couple hundred more for closing the deal, etc)Has anyone out there been in this kind of spot?

There are "turn key" wife companies all over the internet. 

I agree with you about wanting to help people first, like Earl Nightingale said: “your rewards in life are in direct proportion to the service you render” and the money may not all come from those you serve.
