I am planning on being in my area (Central Illinois) for about another year and a half.I love the idea of house-hacking (I will definitely be doing one).

I plan on 'house hacking' the property and rent out my current residence.

I live in and house hack in Los Angeles where rent control sucks. 

I'm going to house hack the heck out of this duplex.

I was thinking about purchasing a small multi-family to house hack while turning our current primary residence into a rental.

Hello,I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with house hacking a 5 bedroom 2 bathroom property?

Currently house hacking and trying to understand my tax implications and how to properly structure.

Got another quick question: I’m still not fully set on if I want to house hack a larger multi family or get a single family on a conventional loan and rent out.

Paying $1000 more if you are going to hold 20-30-50 years is not going to make any difference if you get the deal, but can make a huge difference if you don't get it.Some of my investors have lost $100,000 or more the past couple of years, because they would not pay over list price.....I've also fought for $1000 here and there.If I had started when I was your age, I would have house hacked like crazy.....put up with a small inconvenience to build massive wealth. 

MFH are much harder to find in this market and "house hacking" is such a fad now almost everyone I know is looking for one.
