House hack 5Bd/2Br viable/reasonable?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with house hacking a 5 bedroom 2 bathroom property? I'm thinking that 4 people sharing one bathroom is not ideal but want to know if anyone has done it before and their experience.

I would say 4 people sharing one bathroom is going to cause problems. Where do people go to the bathroom when someone else is showering? You will need to make sure your hot water heater is big enough to even support that many showers.

One option is let the people share your bathroom with you. That would allow you to write off more square feet in the property.

Also check local occupancy laws. My city allows no more than 3 unrelated adults to share one property. Parking is another consideration, as is refrigerator storage and common areas usage.
