There are some reflective coatings that can be applied that work well BUT do they suit any local codes.

Paint all areas effected with kilz oil based , 2 or 3 coats to contain any smell

Paint depends on how it bad it’s marked up or chipped,, If it’s normal wear and tear than a few over Coates Of paint should be suitable.
