There you can get a pretty good return if you buy wisely, yet avoid most (not all) of the problems that come with investing in the City of Detroit.Suggest you start attending local real estate investor meetings and meetups: REIA of Oakland, MREI, Macomb REIA, Renegade Detroit Investors, etc.

@Farzad Lanjani you probably need to research each type of asset class that interests you, then attend a seminar or networking event on a meetup site and meet other investors.

I have recently purchased my first property in Denver, CO with the intention of AirBNB short term rental.

I recommend attending networking events (NY has a lot of them) and meet people who have invested successfully in BRRRR and flipping. 

The second two are free to attend.

I really would like to go network with people and attend meetups (which I'm actively searching for).

Due to changing zoning rules with the city of Denver there was significant delay but they eventually approved the project and the project is underway.

Pumped that you made it to Denver and are in full blown recovery.
