I have come across similar situations trying to track down current owners of mineral interest for an Oil & Gas Lease.

I'd add "water" of course because we can live without oil but we can't live without water.

With extended oil price wars your domestic buyers will lose buying power as CAD gets devalued.

One guy works 2 weeks on - 2 weeks off in the Alaskan oil fiends—and for all I know he is still busy and working.

I worked in the Oil Field and in Louisiana and Texas the older guys and gals who were retired, would set up these so called, Working Man's Hotels and live next door or down the street to manage them.

I'd be much more concerned about things like crumbling foundations, buried underground oil tanks, weird/illegal/collapsing extensions, etc.
