I'm uncertain whether to wait until we settle down before starting our real estate investment journey or to purchase a home at our next location and rent it out when we move again.

These numbers are not a house hacking scenario but to check if the deal is good so that I can start house hacking.

That's great, because many people never get started at all. 

I would start here to see that people are coming to the area and not be as worried with why.I'd also confirm what you need to operate legally such as any permit requirements.

I’ll start attending our local meetups though just to start building that network.

How did you get started investing? 

Focus on starting small with a house hack and increasing your income to have more capital.

I will post the before and after pictures, hopefully it can help anyone starting this journey, we are new investing out of state but NOT new to handlining construction project out of state for clients, looking forward to the challenge!!!!
