A defendant like the one you're dealing with will never show....they are called 'uncollectables'....they have no property, often no steady W2 job to garnish wages from......Not to say you shouldn't go ahead with SC court, just be aware of the reality....

There are many MFH that share meters and systems.Personally, if this is a house hack or even a straight investment we typically don't go through the effort of rezoning a property as a Multiunit.
