@Mark SpritzWhile in the the year that you open the solo 401k plan you need to be merely pursuing self-employment activity (see IRS Publication 560 which lists this specific language), it is important to note that generally in order to continue with the solo 401k plan you must continue to to perform "material services" with the intent to generate earned income from self-employment.

I'm not on the servicing end of the lending spectrum, so I cant say with 100% accuracy that you cant do an assumption with any other lender than the servicer, but that would be my guess in this case.

I thought about having a property management company manage the property but I do believe this is something I could do on my own and utilize on line screening services as well as checking local evictions public records.
