The combo of vacant and builders risk coverage cost was a mild shock.  

Local banks will finance you, but will look at your current performance to be sure you are at 1.2+ debt service coverage. 

Excellent insurance coverages reduces most if not all liability risk.If you own multi family MHP is not much different

The question I have regarding landlord insurance is what coverage you would suggest I get quotes on?

I'm guessing the key would be the agreement and making sure there is proper coverage. 

The recent California wild/urban fires, the destruction of 15,000 homes,  and the horror stories on insureds not getting paid enough to rebuild, have me wondering: How do we ensure that our coverage will do what we think it will in times of need? 

And will the coverage be for an amount of 2 million or greater?

Of course all this is assuming insurance coverage is not involved for some reason.There is also a good deal of anonymity when using any sort of legal structure.
